Events but also and above all the activities linked to the enhancement and functional modernisation of the Civic Museums of Venice. And, behind this, an equally decisive investment in educational programmes and activities, research and services for citizens.
As Mayor Luigi Brugnaro affirms, “in the year just past, the Musei Civici di Venezia recorded over 2.1 million visitors. As the Administration, we can only be proud of this result and the constant concern to present a range of offerings always in the foreground of the vast Venetian cultural panorama which, also for this reason, calls for particular care and attention”.
“Venice’s museums are still growing in services to the public, with scientific projects, enhancement and exhibition proposals, as well as infrastructures, cafeterias and reception areas, with increasing opportunities for extraordinary openings and extended hours to enable everyone to experience the places of culture. All this thanks to the workers, operators, conservators, art historians, technicians, librarians and staff of the central services, who work with such passion and dedication”.
As Mariacristina Gribaudi, President of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia points out, “the added value of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia lies in being a very large and complex museum system, comprising numerous different professional roles and therefore many people. I would like to start from this point to recall what has been done and introduce a 2024 programme rich in initiatives of enhancement, scientific projects, exhibitions, publications, lectures and insights. A schedule made possible every year by the many different professionals who constitute our fundamental resource. Staff who work every day to give the best to the citizens of Venice and visitors from around the world”.
