New openings, exhibitions to discover and rediscover. A new season dedicated to the languages of contemporary art, exploring connections and dialogues with the collections, history and life of the Venetian Civic Museums.
Discover MUVEC (House of Contemporary Art), the new museum dedicated to contemporary art in Mestre. The project unfolds through two interwoven narratives: on one hand, the story of international art that has passed through Venice and its surrounding territory since 1948; on the other, the original artistic experiences that have accompanied the growth and evolution of the city of Mestre.
From 7 May – Featuring more than thirty new paintings presented within an immersive installation created specifically for the museum, Hernan Bas brings The Visitors to Ca' Pesaro.
The exhibition is Jenny Saville's first major presentation in Venice, tracing the development of her career from its beginnings to the present day.
From 30 April – Spiral Economy unfolds as a dialogue between artist Julian Charrière and Antonio Canova through the galleries of the Museo Correr, revealing the poetic nature of materiality.
In each exhibition project, Bizhan Bassiri articulates principles, constants and recurring themes that express the poetic foundations of his aesthetic vision.
From 6 May – Museo Fortuny presents the first major exhibition in Italy devoted to the work of Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm.
