BASIC FURNACE COURSE

This course introduces participants to the most typical Murano technique: blown glass. It is ideal not only for absolute beginners but also for those with limited experience in hot glass working. Following a detailed introduction to the techniques and tools of furnace glassmaking, participants will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of working with glass on their own, under the supervision of the master glassmakers of the Glass School. Participants will be able to create their own unique pieces, showcasing their imagination and creativity: the finished works can be taken home as a souvenir of this unforgettable experience.
COURSE DURATION
20 hours, from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM; Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
PROGRAM
- Introduction to the course
- Furnace safety concepts
- Knowledge of glass material, furnace structure, and tools necessary for processing
- Demonstration by the glass master
- Practical tests of solid and blown glass working
- Creation of two artifacts
- Visit to the Murano Glass Museum
- Packaging and collection of pieces
PARTICIPATION TERMS
The lessons are conducted in English and Italian, and no prior specific knowledge is required.
Registration for each of the courses will be done individually: you can sign up for all of them or just one of the three. Each module will be activated with a minimum of 5 enrollees up to a maximum of 7 participants.

Registrations are accepted in the order they are received. Upon reaching the minimum number of participants, the reservation service will communicate the activation of the course and the payment methods.
COSTS
The cost of each module varies based on the number of participants:
5 – 7 participants: 610 euros per participant
1 – 4 participants: 960 euros per participant
1 participant: 1580 euros
The fee includes:
- use of the equipment and materials provided by the Istituto Abate Zanetti for the creation of the piece and for laboratory practice
- access to the furnaces and workshops
- guided tour of the Murano Glass Museum at the end of the course
