Develop new skills and engage with MUVE experts on topics related to art, history, museum management and cultural heritage. Through MUVE Academy, advanced training programmes, masterclasses, hands-on experiences and seminars inspired by the collections of the Venetian Civic Museums offer new perspectives on history, the contemporary world and the future.
CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Chinese Writing between Time, Body and Brush

Venue: Fortuny Museum, Venice
MUVE Academy presents a two-day workshop exploring Chinese calligraphy, the poetic art of writing shaped by time. Grounded in the relationship between the body, materials and the flow of time, it combines the enduring quality of inscriptions carved in stone with the expressive vitality of brush and ink.
Classes will be held in English, Chinese and Italian. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
The workshop opens on Friday, 23 October, with a special invitation to a live calligraphy performance at Doge’s Palace, and concludes on Monday, 26 October, with the opportunity to attend the academic conference Calligraphy in Contemporary China: Art, Education and Society.

Istituto Abate Zanetti of Murano and Murano Glass Museum
Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia – MUVE Academy and the ISS Abate Zanetti of Murano offer courses dedicated to the ancient art of Murano glassmaking. A hands-on experience to learn the basics of glassworking techniques, create your own piece to take home, and explore the history of glass art through a special visit to the Murano Glass Museum.
