Saturday, 20 June 2026

On Saturday, 20 June 2026, Art Night returns, Venice’s long Night of the Arts. Conceived and organised by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Municipality of Venice, the event was established in 2011 and is part of the official calendar of the European Nights of the Arts.

On this occasion, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia will take part with extraordinary free evening openings of Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art, Fortuny Museum and MUVEC – Casa delle Contemporaneità.

Now a much-anticipated event for both residents and visitors, Art Night will once again animate the entire city with hundreds of free events hosted by museums, cultural institutions, galleries, bookshops, theatres, artists’ studios and other cultural venues.

This year, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia joins the initiative by exceptionally opening its three venues dedicated to modern and contemporary art during the evening, including the temporary exhibitions currently on display.

The three museums will be open free of charge from 6.15 pm to 10.00 pm, with last admission at 9.00 pm.

At Ca’ Pesaro, the historic home of Venice’s International Gallery of Modern Art, visitors will be able to explore the exhibitions Jenny Saville a Ca’ Pesaro, dedicated to one of the most important painters of our time and the artist’s first major exhibition in Venice, and Hernan Bas. The Visitors, featuring more than thirty new paintings presented within an immersive installation created specifically for the museum.

At Museo Fortuny, the extraordinary house-museum once owned by Mariano Fortuny and home to his creative universe, visitors will be able to enjoy both the permanent collection and the exhibition Erwin Wurm. Dreamers, a major monographic exhibition dedicated to the Austrian sculptor.

In Mestre, MUVEC – Casa delle Contemporaneità will welcome visitors to its recently inaugurated spaces, dedicated to contemporary artistic research.
