Carnival at the Museum 2025

 


The Venice Carnival at Musei Civici di Venezia,

with extended opening hours and special openings!

The Venice Carnival is an opportunity to discover and rediscover the rich cultural heritage of the city, the Museum collections and the temporary exhibitions. Discover the special openings in the Musei Civici di Venezia and at the Centro Culturale Candiani in Mestre, with Matisse and the Light of the Mediterranean, closing on 4 March 2025.
 

EXTENDED OPENING HOURS
From Thursday 27 February to Tuesday 4 March 2025, the Doge’s Palace and the Museo Correr* will be exceptionally open until 22.00 (last admission at 21.00).

On Friday 28 February and Saturday 1 March 2025, Fortuny Museum, Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art and Ca’ Rezzonico – Musem of 18th Century Venice will be exceptionally open until 21.00 (last admission at 20.00).

 

SPECIAL OPENINGS
On Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 March 2025, the last day of Carnival, all the Musei Civici of Venice and the exhibition Matisse and the Light of the Mediterranean at Centro Culturale Candiani in Mestre will be open to the public, including the Museums that are usually closed on Mondays (Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art*, Palazzo Mocenigo Museum, Natural History Museum of Venice and Lace Museum, Burano) and on Tuesdays (Fortuny Museum, Ca’ Rezzonico).

 

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILIES
During the Venice Carnival, discover the activities on-demand aimed at families with children and kids: an opportunity to have fun and learn, discovering eighteenth-century fashion and constructing a personalized puppet with the Special  “Carnival at the Museum” Workshops at the Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo and Carlo Goldoni’s House.

*ST. MARK’S SQUARE MUSEUMS: from 27 February to 4 March, the Museo Archeologico Nazionale will be open until 19.00.
On Sunday, 2 March, the Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana will be open until 19.00.

*The Museum of Oriental Art will be open until 20.00 on Friday 28 February and 1 March; it will be closed on Monday, 3 March.
